Q. What do I wear when I first start classes? Do I need to buy a uniform right away?
A: When you are first starting out simply wear what's comfortable, we recommend sweats or a t-shirt and shorts. No you do not need a uniform to start and do not require one officially until you are testing for yellow belt.
Q. When do I pay my class fees? Do I pay monthly or for a longer period of time?
A: Class fees are collected at the beginning of each month. You are only required to pay one month at a time but you can pay for several months in advance if you wish.
Q. Do you offer family classes?
A: Yes, you can take our classes as a family and we offer special discounts for multiple family members. Please see Mr. Hutchison for more details.
Q. Can I come in to watch a class or try it out?
A: Yes, we recommend trying out a class before committing to our club.
Q. How often do you offer testing for your next belt level?
A: As it stands now we will evaluate each student's progress monthly. If a student is ready and has put in the proper time requirements they will test at the end of that month.
Q. Is there a lot of contact in Taekwon-Do, is sparring a required part of the class?
A: For beginners there is little or no contact until they are trained in the basics of Taekwon-Do. As you progress light sparring is a part of the class but in a controlled and relaxed environment.
Q. Are you required to compete in tournaments or competitions on behalf of the club?
A: No, you can compete in tournaments only if you have interest. In order to compete in tournaments you must receive an invitation from the instructor.
